My grandmother taught me how to machine and hand quilt when I was a teenager. And while I haven’t quilted in years, I’m able to bring my love of the art form to my love for polymer clay with this Ohio Star Quilt Patch brooch! I know she’d be tickled pink to wear a brooch like this.
Each square and rectangle is pieced by hand, then marked with “stitches” by me. They’re baked multiple times with each process building the brooch from quilt top to base to affixing the pin back to wear.
